Rubber-Tired Gantry Training

Rubber-Tired Gantry Training

CM Labs Simulations, a provider of simulation-based training solutions in the ports, construction, and utilities industries, has launched its ultra-realistic remotely operated rubber-tired gantry (ROS RTG) training solution, expanding its Remote Operating line of products.

CM Labs’ remote RTG training solution combines two key components: a Remote Operating Station (ROS) desk from industry-leading controls manufacturer Spohn + Burkhardt and the Intellia ROS RTG Training Pack by CM Labs.

Designed for both seasoned professionals and new entrants to the field, this training system helps operators prepare for the additional complexities of remotely operating an RTG—without disrupting port operations.

“More and more, our customers are requesting training solutions for remote port equipment operation. But operating remote equipment introduces an entirely new way of working. Experienced operators must adjust to different tactile and visual cues, while new operators face a distinct learning curve. Our solution is built to support both,” said Devon Van de Kletersteeg, Ports Product Growth Manager at CM Labs.

Together, the ROS desk and the ROS RTG Training Pack tackle the unique challenges of remote crane operation. The ergonomically designed, multi-screen ROS features a motorized, height-adjustable tabletop with memory settings and is specifically designed for use in port crane applications. Meanwhile, the ROS RTG Training Pack redefines training realism with dynamic, camera-based views that authentically replicate a port environment.

CM Labs Simulations’ ultra-realistic remotely operated rubber-tired gantry (ROS RTG) training solution expands its Remote Operating line of products.

Trainees must operate an RTG solely through camera perspectives and respond to simulated system faults—developing the critical decision-making and situational awareness required for remote operations. The Training Pack includes a suite of guided, skill-building, and free form exercises, along with an Exercise Builder that enables organizations to customize scenarios to match their operational realities.

In addition, the ROS RTG training system integrates seamlessly with CM Labs’ Intellia suite of training management and instructor tools. Through these tools, instructors can develop custom learning paths, inject faults into exercises, track student performance, and bulk export training files for secure, data-driven, and streamlined training management.
