OZ Lifting Parapet Davit Base
Winona, Minnesota-based OZ Lifting Products LLC will showcase its davit cranes and material handling equipment at two construction events during Q4 2025.
OZ Lifting will return to Chicago Build, McCormick Place, October 29-30 (Booth 611); before debuting at the Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) Annual Convention & Trade Show, Phoenix Convention Center, Arizona, November 9-11 (Booth 711-713).
Chicago Build will attract contractors, architects, realtors, civil engineers, developers, house builders, and construction professionals, largely from the U.S. Midwest. It is the perfect platform to show its 250-lb. capacity parapet davit crane base, which is compatible with the XR Series 250 davit crane, and can be temporarily installed on rooftops without causing damage on installation or removal.
The XR Series davit crane offers extended reach capabilities; with a maximum reach of 62 in. and a hook height of 87 in., the crane is engineered to provide unparalleled access and versatility. It is designed to handle substantial loads, while maintaining its full weight capacity in all positions. The crane has four adjustable boom heights and 360-degree rotation.

Richard Miller, sales manager at OZ Lifting, said: “We have been working on this base option — and the combined facility maintenance system — for 18 months. It originally came from conversations at a HVACR [heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration] event. We have several bases that work on rooftops, but they need to be bolted to the structure. There are many building owners that don’t want a permanently mounted base. Our parapet base can be clamped and then removed without damage.”
He added: “We exhibited [at Chicago Build] for the first time in 2024 with great success. There are several general contractors walking the show; we want to let them know there is another option for using a rooftop davit that doesn’t need to be permanently mounted.”
The parapet base joins four existing base options — pedestal, commonly bolted to the floor in a facility; socket, used in an area where the installer will pour cement around the base; wall-mount, allowing a davit crane to be attached to a wall to save floorspace; and wheel, used to move the crane to various points within a site.
Chicago Build attendees will also be able to see the Tele-Pro davit crane, leveraging the benefits of the company’s other davits, while telescoping the boom in and out under load; and the Alumi-Lite davit, crafted from lightweight aerospace-grade aluminum, and offering exceptional durability without compromising on ease of transport. The Electric Series chain hoist, Builder’s Hoist, manual hoists, trolleys, and beam clamps complete the line-up.

STAFDA debut
The following month’s STAFDA Annual Convention & Trade Show, meanwhile, will feature educational programs, seminars, and an exciting trade show that is always well attended by leading manufacturing, distribution, and rep agencies within the industry. OZ Lifting — a new STAFDA member — will show a selection of its davit cranes, plus push beam trolleys; beam clamps; chain hoists; lever hoists; and manual winches.
Miller said: “Membership in this association offers us more exposure in the construction and industrial markets; the show was the major driver for us to join. Outdoor construction is year-round in Arizona, but we expect to meet distributors from across the country, whereas Chicago [Build] is more of a regional event.”
Miller will be joined in both Chicago and Phoenix by Steve Napieralski, the company’s president.
