Columbus McKinnon Corporation (CMCO) has issued a technical bulletin, confirming recent updates to products in the manufacturer’s rigging line.
Federal standards specify that a minimum of two rope clips are required to make a loop in 7/16” or smaller wire rope. However, end users may not know the quantity required and individually packaging these clips has caused confusion. Therefore, to alleviate this confusion, our 1/8” through 7/16” Wire Rope Clips and our 3/16” through 3/8” Mid-Grips will be packed in quantities of two.
Description of change
Pack 1/8” through 7/16” Wire Rope Clips and 3/16” through 3/8” Mid-Grips two assemblies per bag as required to make a wire rope loop.
Part numbers M244, M245, M246, M247, M248, M249, M2546, M2547, and M2548 will be replaced by M244-2, M245-2, M246-2, M247-2, M248-2, M249-2, M2546-2, M2547-2, and M2548-2. Item descriptions will indicate “2/bag”.
The “-2” suffix will be added to the old part number to indicate there are two assemblies per bag.
- Note that larger sizes are not affected by this change.
