Recycling Technology Innovation Act
The Plastics Industry Association supports Congressman Crenshaw (R-TX) and Chairman Palmer’s (R-AL) introduction of the Recycling Technology Innovation Act — legislation that will provide regulatory clarity for advanced recycling technologies.

Since 1937, The Plastics Industry Association has been working to make its members, and the eighth largest U.S. manufacturing industry, more globally competitive.
“The plastics industry is committed to recycling more and keeping valuable materials in the circular economy—and advanced recycling technologies are essential to achieving those goals,” said Matt Seaholm, President and CEO of the Plastics Industry Association.
“Today, inconsistent interpretations of the Clean Air Act create regulatory uncertainty that slows investment and innovation.
“The Recycling Technology Innovation Act delivers much-needed clarity by ensuring advanced recycling is regulated as manufacturing and aligning federal policy with what most states already recognize. This common sense approach strengthens U.S. manufacturing, supports American jobs, and keeps valuable materials in our economy and out of the environment.”
- The Plastics Industry Association supports the entire plastics supply chain, including Equipment Suppliers, Material Suppliers, Processors, and Recyclers, representing over one million workers in our $551 billion U.S. industry.
