Engineered Rigging Adds Hydraulic Gantry Crane
Engineered Rigging® has added an Officine CLP LG202 hydraulic gantry crane to its rental and sales fleet, the second CLP gantry model to reach the United States since the company introduced the Italian manufacturer’s equipment to the Americas in early August.
The first CLP gantry, an LG132 model, arrived over the summer and was immediately sold to a specialized rigging company in Texas.

“Luca could have shipped this gantry and sent an invoice. Instead, he got on a plane,” said Christopher Cox, P.E., president of Engineered Rigging (pictured, on right).
“His trip reflects not only his pride in CLP’s engineering and craftsmanship but also the importance of relationships. This is a true partnership where CLP’s values and high standards mirror Engineered Rigging’s, and we’re excited about what our collaboration means for our clients.”
Higher Capacity Meets Compact Design
Compared with the LG132, the LG202 delivers roughly 54% more load capacity at virtually the same lifting height. The LG202 carries a 220-ton (200 metric ton) load capacity on four legs and lifts to a maximum height of 24 feet 6 inches (7.48 m). Like every model in CLP’s LG Series, the LG202 uses heavy-duty, two-stage cylinders engineered to hold full rated capacity through both stages, eliminating the capacity drop-off common in the upper stage.
It also features the LG Series’ signature compact and lightweight modular design, which optimizes portability and ease of transport. Each leg weighs 6,945 pounds (3,150 kg), and its base measures 36.2 by 70.9 inches (0.92 by 1.80 m). Fully retracted, the gantry stands 10 feet (3.05 m), low enough to move into data centers, warehouses and manufacturing plants where overhead clearance and door height dictate what equipment can enter the building.
“Facilities are setting heavier modular loads than their overhead cranes are designed to handle,” said Mike Beres, vice president of Engineered Rigging. “The LG202 gives them 220 tons of capacity in a package that ships on one trailer and fits through a standard opening.”

Engineered for Precise, Controlled Lifts
Internally ported cylinders eliminate exposed hydraulic hoses, snag hazards and potential leak points, while a self-contained power pack in each leg allows for fast deployment. Automated controls keep all four legs moving in unison during lifting, lowering and horizontal travel, safely controlling the load throughout the lift.
An ergonomic LCD radio remote enables a single operator to control the lift from a safe distance and monitor lift height, load weight and system health in real time. Built-in remote diagnostics, over a cellular or LAN connection, allow CLP and Engineered Rigging to identify and resolve issues before they become jobsite delays.
The LG202 is built with Bosch Rexroth hydraulics and Siemens electrical systems, non-proprietary components that can be sourced quickly through established supply channels. All LG Series models comply with CE and ASME design standards, and each machine undergoes certified load testing before delivery, with dynamic tests at 110% and static tests at 125% of rated capacity.
Engineered Rigging provides operator training, technical support and domestic fabrication of compatible gantry accessories, including gantry track and header beams.
