HSI Announces Major Expansion
Handling Systems International, Inc. (HSI), a leading American manufacturer of overhead material handling systems, today announced the purchase of a new 350,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing campus in Bedford Park, Illinois.
The new facility marks one of the most significant milestones in the company’s nearly 70-year history and will consolidate HSI‘s two existing Chicagoland operations into a single location. The expansion adds approximately 250,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehousing, and office space, providing the capacity to support the company’s continued growth for years to come.
Founded in 1957, Handling Systems International has grown from a family-owned business into one of North America’s leading manufacturers of jib cranes, bridge cranes, gantry cranes, workstation crane systems, monorails, and ergonomic lifting solutions. Today, the company serves a nationwide network of crane distributors and industrial partners while remaining family-owned through three generations.
“This investment represents far more than additional space,” said Jake Rehor, President of Handling Systems International. “It strengthens our ability to serve our customers, expand our manufacturing capabilities, and continue investing in the future of our business.”
“This is an exciting new chapter for HSI,” added Mike Rehor, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Bringing our operations together under one roof creates new opportunities for collaboration, efficiency, and continued innovation. Most importantly, it positions us to better serve our customers and dealer network for decades to come.”

The Bedford Park campus will become HSI‘s new corporate headquarters and primary manufacturing facility, with the transition taking place in phases over the coming months while maintaining uninterrupted operations.
As HSI approaches its 70th anniversary, this expansion reflects the company’s continued investment in American manufacturing, its employees, and the customers and partners who have fueled its success since 1957.
