Heartland Names Holt Lift and Access Editor

Heartland Communications Group has named Katie Holt as the new editor of Lift and Access, effective Feb. 21.

Before joining Heartland, Holt worked for three years as a marketing communications specialist at Altec, a leading provider of products and services to the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, lighting and sign, and contractor markets.

Altec’s access and lifting products include truck-mounted aerial lifts, boom trucks, and Effer knuckleboom cranes.

At Altec, Holt was the company’s copywriter, responsible for overseeing the blog and editorial calendar. She also helped manage Altec’s internal communications and public relations, in addition to supporting marketing efforts throughout the company.

Holt’s industry knowledge includes equipment designing and manufacturing, auctions, service support, fleet management, safety, and financing.

• Before joining Altec, Holt worked as a political communications director and freelanced for news publications.

She holds a degree in public relations from the University of Alabama and lives in Huntsville, Alabama, with her husband, Zack, and their dog, Maddie.
