Caldwell Hosts Sales Network Summit
The Caldwell Group Inc. has hosted its sales network at Beloit headquarters for a three-day summit focused on sharing knowledge, strengthening relationships and aligning the team around the company’s priorities for the year ahead.
The Aug. 25-27 event included Caldwell employees and manufacturing representatives from across its sales network, providing an opportunity to share experience, learn about the latest developments and discuss how the business can better support customers. A central objective was to encourage open conversations focused on products, training, knowledge, market direction and key initiatives in the many vertical markets the company serves.
The relaxed setting encouraged discussion about what is working well and where there is room for improvement. Feedback from representatives gave Caldwell a clearer view of how its brands are perceived in the marketplace, as well as the needs and challenges facing distributors and end users.

The event included Caldwell employees and manufacturing representatives from across its sales network.
Jeff Ferchen, director of business development, said: “Product knowledge and technical expertise were key pillars of this year’s sales summit. We want to equip our outside team with the same depth of knowledge we have within Caldwell, so they can provide the best possible support to our distributors and end users. Ultimately, our priority is to keep improving and be the easiest company to do business with, one that truly listens to its customers and understands what they need to compete in a global market.”
Faster response
Sharing knowledge across the sales network is intended to help Caldwell respond more quickly to customers. In a market where stakeholders expect quick, accurate answers, Caldwell aims to ensure its teams have the product and market knowledge they need to respond effectively. That approach, as Ferchen said, is underpinned by five principles that guide customer interactions: being helpful, empathetic, able, responsive and trustworthy.

The three-day summit focused on sharing knowledge, strengthening relationships and aligning the team.
The education shared at the summit, together with examples of projects and their impact in different markets, gave representatives practical knowledge they can take back to their customers. The program is tailored each year to reflect Caldwell’s business priorities, initiatives and the needs of its markets, with key takeaways turned into action points and followed up after the event to ensure the discussions lead to practical improvements.
Sarah Stitt, director of sales operations, said: “Relationships are vitally important in our industry, and that applies just as much to the relationships within our sales network as it does to those with our customers. Our manufacturing representatives are on the front line every day, working directly with dealers and giving us valuable insight into what customers need, where the challenges are and how we can improve. Bringing everyone together gives us a chance to share that knowledge, strengthen those relationships and make sure our representatives have the product knowledge, guidance and support they need to help our dealers succeed.”

A central objective of the summit was to encourage open conversations.
This year’s emphasis on deeper product knowledge, technical expertise and industry standards was intended to give representatives the information they need to respond more quickly and confidently to distributor and end-user questions. It also reflects Caldwell’s focus on providing practical, relevant information to those who specify, supply and use its products.
