Marketing Veteran Melissa Hicks Joins Engineered Rigging
Engineered Rigging, a leading provider of heavy lifting and specialized transport solutions, announced the appointment of Melissa Hicks as director of marketing. A familiar presence at Engineered Rigging, Hicks has been a trusted consultant for the company since its launch in 2017.
“Melissa has been a driving force behind our brand, our voice and our presence in the rigging industry. Bringing her onto the team full-time is a natural next step, and I look forward to her impact in this new role,” said Christopher Cox, P.E., founder and president of Engineered Rigging.
With a nearly 30-year career, Hicks built a reputation for delivering bottom-line results by combining creative vision with sharp business acumen.
Her areas of expertise include brand strategy, content development and public relations. She graduated with highest distinction from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Hicks founded Mosaic Marketing in 2002. For nearly 25 years the consulting and creative agency served B2B companies and nonprofits across the United States. In 2020, Hicks was recognized as one of the Most Powerful Women in media and broadband for her contributions to the industry during the pandemic. Early in her career, Hicks served as vice president of marketing & member services at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).
In her new role, Hicks will serve as the steward of Engineered Rigging’s brand identity, developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy across all platforms, spearheading public relations and championing the company’s philanthropic efforts through its nonprofit foundation, Engineered Giving.

Hicks brings a genuine passion for community impact to the company’s mission. She has led numerous outreach efforts and collectively raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations including the American Heart Association, United Way, Habitat for Humanity and local schools. She currently serves as the immediate past president of the United Way of Miami County.
