Hyster Electric Forklift Wins Award
Hyster recently announced that the J230-400XD electric forklift series, known as the J10-18XD outside of North America, won a silver Best in Biz award in the category of “Best Environmentally Friendly Product of 2025.”
The high-capacity electric trucks, which have load capacities from 23,000 to 40,000 pounds (10-18 metric tonnes), are powered by factory-integrated lithium-ion batteries that allow intense operations to maintain productivity levels comparable to internal combustion engines (ICE), while producing zero emissions during operation.

The J230-400XD electric forklift series won a silver Best in Biz award in the category.
The J230-400XD series offers a range of battery sizes to match specific duty cycle and charging requirements, configurable up to 280 kW. The 350-volt architecture provides a right-sized solution for ICE-like performance and energy efficiency, enabling long run times and minimal energy loss without the additional cost and complexity of higher-voltage systems.

The J230-400XD series incorporates the Combined Charging System (CCS) as standard.
“As operations around the world pursue decarbonization, the world’s most intense industries require electric lift trucks that deliver the performance required to keep the world moving,” said Ricky Hirani, Global Commercial Product Leader, Big Trucks, Hyster.
“The Best in Biz Awards recognize that the J230-400XD series meets this market demand — it’s a rugged, reliable solution with the strong performance that makes it possible for higher-capacity applications to rely on electric equipment.”

The J230-400XD trucks integrate batteries into the existing Hyster high-capacity truck design.
Like all high-capacity electric trucks from Hyster, the J230-400XD series incorporates the Combined Charging System (CCS) as standard. This enables operations to cost-effectively scale charging for multiple types of equipment through a single, standardized charging connector that has been adopted globally across numerous industries.
An onboard Battery Management System (BMS) is also included to provide detailed information on battery health and overall performance. Industry-leading ingress protection helps batteries and wiring withstand the demands of intense operating environments and conditions, enabling a low total cost of ownership. Multiple performance modes allow operators to tailor deceleration and energy regeneration to suit specific tasks. Based on the deceleration level selected, regenerative braking sends energy back to the battery, helping increase time between charges.
The trucks offer a spacious cockpit-style cabin that keeps all truck information and controls within reach, a range of seat configurations and an adjustable control arm to help operators work efficiently. The J230-400XD trucks integrate batteries into the existing Hyster high-capacity truck design, helping provide a level of familiarity to operators and the same level of rear visibility as on most equivalent models powered by internal combustion engines.
