Creform Corporation, a manufacturer of unique products for material handling and commercial use, has designed and built a picking cart for a manufacturer that specializes in consumer products.

The picking cart will be used in a warehouse setting to improve productivity, ergonomics and flexibility, while supporting multiple picking strategies such as batch, zone, and/or piece-pick operations. The cart provides an innovative and versatile solution for in process workflow.

The warehouse picking cart features five horizontal picking shelves for totes. Each level features a solid shelf surface for stable part storage.

The cart can be adjusted to match inventory or workflow changes and configurable to match SKUs and other types of picking methods. Curved handles are installed at a proper height in order to reduce strain on the pickers. 

Having bin organization and ergonomic positioning, the cart and its shelves allow for more picks per hour and reduced errors. A pick light system can be added to take the cart to the next level of efficiency. Should the need arise, each of the cart’s shelves can be repositioned or the whole cart can be customized with only simple tools. The modular construction of a Creform structure provides for  easy customization and scalability.  

The cart’s dimensions are  22″ W x 74″ L x 70″. T and features four large 6in. diameter casters for balanced maneuverability. The bolt-on casters with urethane wheels provide for easy, stable, safe rolling and precise positioning anywhere in the facility. The cart is designed to hold up to 800 lb.  It features Creform’s 28mm plastic coated steel tubing and clamping metal joints provide the necessary strength and durability yet retain flexibility.

As with all Creform carts, higher capacity and custom cart sizes and configurations are possible with the Creform system of 28 mm and 42 mm plastic-coated steel pipes and metal joints. When needed, they can be configured for ESD (anti-static) applications. Further, Creform carts provide minimal maintenance requirements for prolonged durability. The surfaces are easy to clean in order to help maintain a hygienic environment.

The color of the pictured cart shown, is black, but a wide variety of pipe color options are available, and upgrade hitches are available for AGV or tugger delivery. Accessories include hooks, label holders for shelf levels or even shelf positions, pockets for paperwork, writing surface with clip boards just to name a few. Creform carts are available as a kit, assembled structure or in component form for a complete DIY solution.
