Yale Materials Handling Corporation<\/a> has donated three GC050VX Veracitor lift trucks to the American Red Cross<\/a>, each providing 5,000 pounds of lifting capacity to move critical supplies in support of disaster relief efforts. The American Red Cross Disaster Field Supply Centers (DFSC) in Dallas, Texas, Atlanta, Ga. and Carlisle, Pa., will each receive a truck.<\/p>\n

“Yale<\/a> is honored to support the American Red Cross efforts to prepare our country for emergencies at a moment\u2019s notice,\u201d said Chuck Bittenbender, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc., who spearheaded the donation. \u201cThe DFSC Centers will benefit greatly from the addition of reliable and efficient lift trucks to transport essential items most needed when a disaster strikes.”<\/p>\n

Hy-Tek Material Handling Inc., a Yale<\/a> dealer headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, helped facilitate the donation by preparing the trucks for shipment to the American Red Cross<\/a> warehouse facilities. In addition, Briggs Equipment, and Eastern Lift Truck Co, Inc. have offered to provide 12 months of free maintenance for the donated trucks. Briggs Equipment will maintain the trucks in Dallas, Texas, and Atlanta, Ga., while Eastern Lift Truck Co, Inc. will maintain the truck in Carlisle, Pa.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe American Red Cross depends on donations from corporate partners to help support extensive relief efforts,\u201d said Michael Parks, CEO for the Northeast Ohio Region of the American Red Cross. \u201cIn the event of man-made or natural disasters, successful relief efforts depend on nimble operations to support quick-response efforts in the field. We are thankful to Yale for this generous donation, which will greatly benefit the efficiency of these efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n
