Observance was established in 2017 to draw attention to the critical role that proper load securement plays in commercial shipping.<\/p>\n

The secondary objective of International Cargo Securement Awareness Month is to help the industry prepare for The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck, which takes place June 4\u20136, 2019 in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The event is the largest targeted enforcement program on commercial motor vehicles in the world. Authorities reported issuing 2,080 out-of-service (OOS) cargo securement citations for violations during Roadcheck 2018 and 2,938 citations during Roadcheck 2017.<\/p>\n

As part of its ongoing efforts to support cargo securement safety across the entire commercial vehicle industry, Kinedyne<\/a> is again undertaking an awareness campaign and event sponsorship. The third annual International Cargo Securement Awareness Month is the logical extension of the ongoing training and support that Kinedyne<\/a> has been delivering for over half a century.<\/p>\n

Kinedyne<\/a> is offering a free Cargo Securement Regulation Training Webinar from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. EDT on May 28, 2019. The webinar, titled \u201cA Survivor\u2019s Guide for Cargo Securement Inspections During International Roadcheck 2019,\u201d will follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.<\/p>\n

The goal of the webinar is to reduce infractions during the CVSA International Roadcheck enforcement event, and it offers a comprehensive instructional presentation that will arm attendees with an in-depth understanding of FMCSA regulations and how these will impact International Roadcheck conformity. Kinedyne<\/a> will also touch on content dealing exclusively with the Canadian market and with regulations set forth by the country\u2019s National Safety Code Standard 10 \u2013 Cargo Securement (NSC10).<\/p>\n

Through its exclusive Cargo Securement Regulation Training Program, Kinedyne<\/a> has trained scores of industry professionals over the years. The free training course is offered to qualified trailer OEMs, dealerships, fleets and owner-operators as a public safety contribution to the industry. As part of the program, Kinedyne<\/a> provides on-site instruction and will bring its expert staff and training tools directly to participants located anywhere in the United States and Canada.<\/p>\n

By having staff attend the May 28 webinar or by inviting Kinedyne to present its on-site Cargo Securement Regulation Training program, fleets can reduce exposure to CSA violations and better protect their Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Category (BASIC) scores under the Carrier Safety Measurement System (CSMS). By learning about and adopting officially sanctioned cargo securement methodologies, participants minimize the chance of infractions, liabilities and equipment damage for themselves and their fleet.<\/p>\n
