The book addresses the full range of subjects needed for the engineering of mobile crane support in construction job site situations.<\/p>\n<p>Topics covered include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support reactions from crawler and outrigger-supported cranes<\/li>\n<li>Soil bearing capacity<\/li>\n<li>Analysis of subsurface structures<\/li>\n<li>Strength of crane mats<\/li>\n<li>Practical design methods<\/li>\n<li>Industry standards and regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Duerr has been active in the specialized heavy rigging and transportation industry since 1974 as an employee, business owner, and subject matter expert. He currently serves as vice chair of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Below-the-Hook (BTH) Standards Committee, Design of Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices, as a member of the ASME B30.1 Subcommittee (Jacks, Industrial Rollers, Air Casters, and Hydraulic Gantries), and the B30.20 Subcommittee (BTHLDs), and as an alternate on the ASME B30 Main Committee.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Mobile_Crane_Support_Handbook-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-555\" src=\"http:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Mobile_Crane_Support_Handbook-1.jpg\" alt=\"Mobile_Crane_Support_Handbook-1\" width=\"182\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Mobile_Crane_Support_Handbook-1.jpg 182w, https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Mobile_Crane_Support_Handbook-1-157x230.jpg 157w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 182px) 100vw, 182px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2004, Duerr served on the Specialized Carriers &amp; Rigging Association (SC&amp;RA) Telescopic Hydraulic Gantry Task Force.<\/p>\n<p>He is a key Instructor involved in the <a title=\"ITI\" href=\"http:\/\/www.iti.com\" target=\"_blank\">ITI<\/a>\u00a0Fundamentals of Rigging Engineering\u00a0online training program that introduces participants to the science and art of the engineering behind heavy crane and rigging, lifting, and transport activities.
