Reusable packaging supplier Orbis Corporation<\/a> has opened its newest manufacturing facility, in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico.<\/p>\n

The 265,000 sq ft plant employs approximately 140 people and enables Orbis to be more responsive with a growing customer base in Latin America. The new plant is also the first Orbis facility to offer injection and structural foam molding, as well as dunnage fabrication, all under one roof.<\/p>\n

Orbis will manufacture plastic containers, pallets, BulkPak containers and its ORBIShield dunnage product line offerings at the new plant. In addition, Orbis<\/a> has introduced a brand new line of fabric dunnage which provides a unique protective solution for the most challenging packaging requirements, specifically in the automotive supply chain.<\/p>\n

In anticipation of the opening, Orbis<\/a> partnered with Instituto Estatal de Capacitaci\u00f3n (IECA), a technical training school in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico to create a hands-on training program that provided new plant employees with general manufacturing and technical knowledge.<\/p>\n
