GCT Canada Limited Partnership has ordered 10 Konecranes<\/a> rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes for its terminals in British Columbia, Canada. The cranes comply with the US EPA Tier 4f standard for diesel engines. The contract was signed at the beginning of February 2018.<\/p>\n

Four of the RTG cranes will be delivered to GCT Vanterm, in Vancouver, in the first quarter of 2019. The remaining six cranes will be delivered to GCT Deltaport, in Delta, British Columbia, also in the first quarter of 2019. Together, the terminals already operate 12 Konecranes RTGs.<\/p>\n

The new cranes are very eco-efficient, offering significant fuel savings and reduced emissions. They will be identical to the fleet of Konecranes<\/a> RTGs already operated by GCT in British Columbia: 16-wheel machines with Active Load Control for maximum container handling productivity, a lifting capacity of 40 LT, lifting 1-over-5 high and 7-plus-truck lane wide.<\/p>\n

However, they will be equipped with the features Auto-Steering, Auto-TOS Reporting, and Auto-Positioning with yard screen in the operator cabin. GCT Canada\u2019s existing Konecranes<\/a> RTG fleet will be updated with the same features.<\/p>\n
