{"id":16545,"date":"2026-05-25T01:23:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T01:23:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/?p=16545"},"modified":"2026-05-19T11:26:51","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T11:26:51","slug":"wit-girl-scouts-continue-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wit-girl-scouts-continue-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"WIT, Girl Scouts Continue Partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Women In Trucking (WIT) continues to inspire the next generation of trucking through its ongoing partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA, creating meaningful opportunities for young girls to explore careers in the dynamic world of trucking.<\/p>\n<p>By introducing young girls to the wide range of rewarding careers available across the industry, from professional truck driving to logistics management, operations and engineering, WIT is helping spark curiosity, build confidence, and open doors to futures many girls may never have imagined.<\/p>\n<p>On May 16, WIT coordinated an event hosted Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan (GSHOM) at the Whitmore Lake Girl Scout building, according to Jenny Fall, WIT\u2019s Director of Driver Engagement. Fall coordinated this \u201cTrucks Are For Girls\u201d event with Renee Osear, Director of Human Resources &amp; Safety Moon Star Express.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16546\" style=\"width: 1210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16546\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Girl-Scout-Event-2-1200x628.png.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Girl-Scout-Event-2-1200x628.png.webp 1200w, https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Girl-Scout-Event-2-1200x628.png-768x402.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Girl-Scout-Event-2-1200x628.png-400x209.webp 400w, https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Girl-Scout-Event-2-1200x628.png-440x230.webp 440w, https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Girl-Scout-Event-2-1200x628.png-650x340.webp 650w, https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Girl-Scout-Event-2-1200x628.png-621x325.webp 621w, https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Girl-Scout-Event-2-1200x628.png-726x380.webp 726w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16546\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">By introducing young girls to the wide range of rewarding careers available across the industry, WIT is helping spark curiosity, build confidence, and open doors.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>According to Fall, approximately 50 young girls and their parents attended and took part in several earning stations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pre-trip experience (and took a quiz as part of the station)<\/li>\n<li>Craft station<\/li>\n<li>Yoga with Maggie Wolarik, Executive Director with Operation Broga<\/li>\n<li>A full WITney\u00ae Educational Trailer experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cI got to talk with girls who didn&#8217;t know anything about the careers in trucking to girls who were confident they wanted to drive some day,\u201d says Fall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese girls were 10 to 12 years old, and their excitement, engagement and overall attitudes made this day so special.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne mom shared that her daughter just wasn&#8217;t into school &#8211; so she wanted to help her find something that didn&#8217;t need a 4 year degree,\u201d continues Fall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got to talk with her about all the things in trucking that I&#8217;ve gotten to see &#8211; from driving truck to operations and customer service roles.
