{"id":1631,"date":"2015-11-25T07:01:00","date_gmt":"2015-11-25T07:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/?p=1631"},"modified":"2015-11-25T07:01:00","modified_gmt":"2015-11-25T07:01:00","slug":"asme-approves-iti-rigging-engineering-training-program-for-ceus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/asme-approves-iti-rigging-engineering-training-program-for-ceus\/","title":{"rendered":"ASME Approves ITI Rigging Engineering Training Program for CEUs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (<a title=\"www.asme.org\" href=\"http:\/\/www.asme.org\" target=\"_blank\">ASME<\/a>) has audited and approved all courses in the <a title=\"www.ITI.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ITI.com\" target=\"_blank\">Industrial Training International (ITI)<\/a> Fundamentals of Rigging Engineering Program for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in compliance with the IACET (International Association for Continuing Education and Training) Standard.<\/p>\n<p>This program from <a title=\"www.ITI.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ITI.com\" target=\"_blank\">ITI<\/a> is the first crane and rigging-related curriculum to be approved by <a title=\"www.asme.org\" href=\"http:\/\/www.asme.org\" target=\"_blank\">ASME<\/a> in such a way and will add to\u00a0its offerings, which cover a wide range of topics including pressure vessels, nuclear, petroleum, and gas turbines to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>Students who complete courses in the Rigging Engineering Program will receive several additional benefits from ASME and <a title=\"www.ITI.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ITI.com\" target=\"_blank\">ITI<\/a> due to this partnership:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Individual Course Certificates with CEUs: Students will receive <a title=\"www.asme.org\" href=\"http:\/\/www.asme.org\" target=\"_blank\">ASME<\/a> CEUs for completing individual course requirements, as indicated on course certificates.<\/li>\n<li>Program Certificate with CEU Summary: Students who complete the entire program requirements will receive a Program Certificate summarizing ASME CEUs earned.<\/li>\n<li>Free One-Year Membership to ASME: Students, upon beginning a course, will have the ability to apply for a free membership to ASME for one year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;When we set out to create this program three years ago, we did so with the aim of building a resource for aspiring and existing rigging engineers through which they could learn from leading experts in the various disciplines that combine to form rigging engineering,\u201d said Keith Anderson, <a title=\"www.ITI.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ITI.com\" target=\"_blank\">ITI<\/a>&#8216;s program manager of rigging engineering and the chief rigging engineer at Bechtel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is highly gratifying to the 20 plus instructors and training professionals who contributed content and structured the <a title=\"www.riggingengineering.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.riggingengineering.com\" target=\"_blank\">Fundamentals of Rigging Engineering Program<\/a> that ASME have audited and approved all the courses for Continuation Education Units,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Students receiving a one-year\u00a0<a title=\"www.asme.org\" href=\"http:\/\/www.asme.org\" target=\"_blank\">ASME<\/a> membership\u00a0will benefit with access to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SmartBrief daily summaries of engineering news<\/li>\n<li>AccessEngineering with over 600 volumes, tools and graphs<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical Engineer magazine subscription<\/li>\n<li>Access to eight interest groups to connect with other members<\/li>\n<li>Job board with exclusive opportunities<\/li>\n<li>e-Mentoring to find or be a mentor<\/li>\n<li>Access to affinity groups<\/li>\n<li>Email alias &#8220;_____@asme.org&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Online member directory of mechanical engineers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ITI president Zack Parnell said: &#8220;I\u00a0am so thankful for the team that was brought together to develop this program and our personnel at ITI who made it come to life. From the initial meeting with Keith Anderson and Jim Yates of Barnhart, we knew that in order to build this right, we&#8217;d want to involve\u00a0the brightest engineers we knew in each respective discipline of rigging engineering. I believe a big part of ASME&#8217;s trust in ITI and this program lay\u00a0heavily on the subject-matter experts selected to produce the curriculum. It is such a credit to the hard work and expertise of the instructor team, and Keith&#8217;s leadership, that earned this approval from the world&#8217;s leading organization\u00a0of mechanical engineers.
