How can the crane industry better understand and support military veterans working in or considering a career in the crane industry? To answer this important question the NCCCO Foundation conducted veteran-focused research in collaboration with SmallBox Consulting. The recently published report examines four key questions:<\/p>\n

  1. How do military veterans find their career in cranes?<\/li>\n
  2. What makes veterans a good fit for careers in the crane industry?<\/li>\n
  3. What makes the crane industry a good fit for veterans?<\/li>\n
  4. What challenges do veterans face in the civilian workforce?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u201cThe new research reinforces that veterans represent an untapped source of high-quality potential employees and that the crane industry provides a unique environment that is a very good fit for the skills and values of veterans,\u201d said T.J. Cantwell, Executive Director of the NCCCO Foundation.<\/p>\n

    \u201cRecruiting more veterans and learning ways to better communicate and reach them is truly a win-win situation for everyone,\u201d Cantwell continued.<\/p>\n

    The NCCCO Foundation also held a webinar providing highlights of the research findings and featured veteran speakers who are familiar with assisting veterans transitioning into the crane industry.<\/p>\n

    The panel also included a Marine Corps veteran with 14 years of experience as a crane operator who offered his advice to veterans seeking employment in the crane industry and companies looking for quality veterans to hire.<\/p>\n
