Terex Utilities<\/a> held its 47th annual Hands-On Training at its manufacturing facility in Watertown, S.D.<\/p>\n

The program provided the opportunity for customers, dealers, and rental partners to operate Terex<\/a>\u00ae digger derricks and aerial devices in different applications.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year we condensed the training into two days, which allowed us to hold two events,\u201d said Tori Worley, Senior Manager of Customer Experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also added a session on in-service protocols for digger derricks and bucket trucks. This allowed for attendees to become familiar with the different elements of our equipment, including how to setup the machines, before operating them.\u201d<\/p>\n

A total of 71 participants from across the United States and internationally rotated through 10 different stations. The digger derrick stations included digging holes, setting poles, and setting screw-anchors. The aerial device stations involved changing out a transformer, setting up and performing a three-phase lift, and changing out an insulator.<\/p>\n

Participants were also instructed on top controls.<\/p>\n

\u201cHands On is geared toward anyone who works for a utility or one of our partners \u2014 whether they are a fleet manager, mechanic or work in the office,\u201d said Worley.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe training allows for those who do not work in the field to have a better understanding of how the equipment is used and operated.\u201d<\/p>\n

One participant offered the following feedback on the 2025 event, \u201cThe training overall was an incredible experience… Every [Terex<\/a>] team member was incredibly informative and overly nice. The structure of the training is well designed and keeps the trainees engaged.\u201d<\/p>\n
