{"id":15212,"date":"2025-09-29T01:04:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-29T01:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/?p=15212"},"modified":"2025-09-22T11:10:59","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T11:10:59","slug":"konecranes-rtgs-for-port-of-cartagena","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/konecranes-rtgs-for-port-of-cartagena\/","title":{"rendered":"Konecranes RTGs for Port of Cartagena"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A major global terminal in the Port of Cartagena, Colombia has ordered 25 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> Rubber-Tired Gantry Cranes (RTGs), along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> retrofits for 10 existing RTGs to enable supervised operations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The deal was signed in Q3 2025 and the new cranes will be delivered in five batches: the first in Q4 2026 and the last in Q1 2028.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The new order forms part of a broader modernization program, with the terminal turning to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> to deliver a unified setup capable of handling peak container flows with minimal unplanned interventions. In addition, 37 third-party RTGs will be retrofitted with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> technology to enable supervised operations. The terminal already has two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> Straddle Carriers and four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> Reach Stackers in operation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a>\u2019 technology includes systems for supervised truck lane operations and remotely supervised stacking, among other solutions. Advanced gantry technology enables supervised gantry moves without direct operator input, while truck guidance and truck lift prevention systems provide enhanced safety and operational control.<\/p>\n<p>The RTG system will be integrated with the terminal\u2019s existing IT and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, including networks, yard controls and remote operating stations. The cranes will operate at high-density container stacks near the berth, where the need for high performance capability and 24\/7 availability is critical. A Service Level Agreement between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> and the customer ensures long-term support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur RTG technology comes with an exceptionally high productivity promise.
