Governor Jeff Landry recently reinforced strong support for the Louisiana International Terminal (LIT), a transformative project led by the Port of New Orleans in partnership with Terminal Investment Limited (TiL) and Ports America \u2014 an alliance poised to create thousands of jobs, boost global trade, and secure Louisiana\u2019s standing as a Gulf Coast economic engine.<\/p>\n

Governor Landry met with Ports America CEO Matthew Leech and Terminal Investment Limited (TiL) CEO Ammar Kanaan to discuss the terminal\u2019s progress and affirm his commitment to seeing the project move forward on schedule.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor generations, Louisiana\u2019s prosperity has been driven by trade, and this project secures our place as an economic powerhouse for generations to come,\u201d said Governor Landry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Louisiana International Terminal is a visionary, strategic investment \u2014 uniting robust local leadership, forward-thinking private partnership, and vital federal support.\u201d<\/p>\n

With construction expected to begin later this year, the LIT project will strengthen Louisiana\u2019s multimodal infrastructure, expand port capacity, and unlock unprecedented access to inland markets. Located in St. Bernard Parish, the terminal will offer unparalleled connectivity to rail, roadway, and river systems \u2014 ensuring faster, more efficient movement of goods while enhancing long-term resilience and safety for surrounding communities.<\/p>\n

The Louisiana International Terminal represents one of the most significant federal investments in a container terminal in U.S. history.<\/p>\n

Its momentum is fueled by the Port of New Orleans\u2019 collaboration with global terminal operator Terminal Investment Limited (TiL) and long-time Louisiana partner Ports America.<\/p>\n
