{"id":14565,"date":"2025-05-05T01:13:26","date_gmt":"2025-05-05T01:13:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/?p=14565"},"modified":"2025-04-22T10:16:12","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T10:16:12","slug":"rtgs-for-gct-deltaport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/rtgs-for-gct-deltaport\/","title":{"rendered":"RTGs for GCT Deltaport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Longstanding customer GCT Global Container Terminals has ordered 10 hybrid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes for its GCT Deltaport terminal and one battery-powered Konecranes RTG for its GCT Vanterm terminal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The agreements were signed in Q1 2025, and the 11 cranes will be delivered by Q3 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The new orders expand GCT&#8217;s fleet of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> RTGs to 43 units. The terminal operator\u2019s earlier RTGs are equipped with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a>&#8216; Diesel Fuel Saver system, bringing significant fuel consumption reductions. Now GCT is taking another step towards its emission reduction goals, adding 10 hybrid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> RTGs and placing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a>\u2019 first order for a fully battery-powered RTG.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a010 hybrid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> RTGs for GCT Deltaport\u00a0will further improve fuel efficiency at what is one of Canada\u2019s busiest and largest container terminals. The battery-powered RTG for GCT Vanterm\u00a0will come with a dedicated charging container and automated charging interface, smoothly integrating with on-site electricity infrastructure. The GCT Vanterm order is GCT\u2019s pilot project for zero-emission RTG operations, providing critical insights that will help GCT make informed decisions on its net zero pathway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGCT is a proud <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/konecranes-inc\/\">Konecranes<\/a> customer, and the quality of their RTG product and the support their people provide is second to none. Our Global Commitment includes reaching 45% absolute emission reductions by 2030 to meet the Paris Agreement reduction targets and Net Zero emissions by 2050.
