{"id":13414,"date":"2024-08-08T01:45:07","date_gmt":"2024-08-08T01:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/?p=13414"},"modified":"2024-08-05T11:49:35","modified_gmt":"2024-08-05T11:49:35","slug":"seaa-elects-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/seaa-elects-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"SEAA Elects Officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Board of Directors for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/steel-erectors-association-america\/\">Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA)<\/a> names officers elected for a one-year term beginning July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, association members have confirmed a new slate of directors.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Board of Directors consists of up to 19 individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From among the directors five officers are elected semi-annually, while the Immediate Past President is an appointed position.<\/p>\n<p>The incoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/steel-erectors-association-america\/\">SEAA<\/a> President is Jack Nix, Chief Operations Officer for Shelby Erectors, Inc. He is supported by David Deem of Deem Structural Services as Immediate Past President and Chris Legnon of Cooper Steel as President-Elect.<\/p>\n<p>Nix has been involved with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/steel-erectors-association-america\/\">SEAA<\/a> since 2008 and has served on the board since 2011. He is a previous recipient of the association\u2019s Person of the Year award and previously led the Membership Committee as its Chairman. Nix began his career in 1985 as an ironworker. In 2022, Shelby Erectors was featured on an episode of Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe, highlighting rodbusters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no other subcontractor owner organization out there that focuses on what we do\u2014building with steel. My goal as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/steel-erectors-association-america\/\">SEAA<\/a>\u2019s next president is to continue to grow our membership, but especially among my reinforcing steel and decking contractor colleagues,\u201d said Nix.<\/p>\n<p>The other new officers include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Glen Pisani of MAS Building &amp; Bridge, Inc., VP, Industry Member<\/li>\n<li>Carrie Gulajan of Construction Insurance Agency, Inc., VP Associate Member<\/li>\n<li>Jason McElrath of MP Specialty Insurance, Treasurer<\/li>\n<li>Bryan McClure of Trivent Safety Consulting, Secretary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Four incumbents were re-elected to new terms (2024-2027):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Richard Bostick, Piedmont Structural Company<\/li>\n<li>Steve Burkholder, S&amp;R Enterprises, LLC<\/li>\n<li>Marc Cox, Gardner-Watson Decking, Inc.<\/li>\n<li>Duke Perry, Gardner-Watson Studs, LLC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, two individuals were appointed to vacated positions. Jamie Hopkins of United Rentals was appointed by the Executive Committee to fill the remaining term of Dave Brown. \u201cBig Dave\u201d Brown passed away on May 31, 2024.
