Panu Routila has been appointed president and CEO of Konecranes Plc. Routila will start in his new position during the autumn, but no later than by the end of the year. He succeeds Pekka Lundmark who will leave Konecranes on September 5 2015 to pursue his career outside the company.<\/p>\n

The board of directors of Konecranes Plc<\/a> has appointed CFO Teo Ottola deputy CEO. The deputy CEO uses the powers of the CEO if the CEO position is not filled or in situations when the CEO is incapacitated to fulfil his duties.<\/p>\n

Routila will transfer from Ahlstr\u00f6m Capital, where he has been president and CEO since 2008. Ahlstr\u00f6m Capital is one of Finland\u2019s largest investment companies. Ahlstr\u00f6m Capital Group\u2019s balance sheet exceeds \u20ac1 billion and the annual net sales of the group are approximately \u20ac1.5 billion.<\/p>\n

Routila has experience from listed companies via his duties as a board member and chairman of the board of Ahlstrom Corporation since 2014 and from Vacon Plc where he was a board member and chairman of the board in 2010-2015.<\/p>\n

He has held industrial management positions at Kuusakoski Group, Alteams and Outokumpu and prior to that he served in leading financial positions at Outokumpu and Partek Group in Finland, France, and the USA. Panu Routila has a M.Sc(Econ.) degree.<\/p>\n

As the previous chairman of Ahlstr\u00f6m Capital, Routila\u2019s present employer, I have known and worked closely with him during several years. Because of conflict of interest I could not participate in the selection process. I am in total agreement with my board\u2019s choice. I am looking forward to continuing my successful collaboration with Panu Routila,\u201d said Konecranes Plc\u2019s chairman of the board Stig Gustavson. \u201cKonecranes possesses a competent and totally committed group of operative leaders in all its business units. Therefore, Routila\u2019s skills of indirect leadership of complex organizations and his experience of M&A-related work very well match the needs of our group going forward,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
