{"id":11134,"date":"2022-12-24T01:22:49","date_gmt":"2022-12-24T01:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/?p=11134"},"modified":"2022-12-20T12:28:04","modified_gmt":"2022-12-20T12:28:04","slug":"genie-in-americas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/news\/genie-in-americas\/","title":{"rendered":"Genie in Americas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Responding to increasing jobsite regulations and environmental needs, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a> is expanding the availability of its electric S-60 DC and hybrid S-60 FE boom lifts\u2014the industry\u2019s first lightweight, four-wheel drive electrified telescopic boom lifts in the 60 ft (18 m) height class.<\/p>\n<p>Made available in May for customers in Europe, the booms are now also available in North America, Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Customers in North America will have an opportunity to see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a> S-60 FE in person Feb. 13-15, 2023, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a> booth (#4247) at The ARA Show.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With a working height of 65.1 ft (20 m) and a 61 ft 2 in (18.60 m) platform height, the S-60 FE and S-60 DC rough-terrain electric boom lifts build on the success of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a>\u2019s FE hybrid and DC electric technology to deliver clean, quiet jobsite performance in two versatile models that require less maintenance and have a lower total cost of ownership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a>\u2019s newest electrified boom lifts \u2014 the hybrid S-60 FE and electric S-60 DC boom lifts \u2014 deliver the reduced emissions and rugged performance modern jobsites need, along with the quality, durability and reliability equipment owners expect from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a>,\u201d says Sean Larin, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a> Global Product Director. \u201cWith a best-in-class jib length and a low total cost of ownership, these booms have been well received by the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although these booms have only been in the market since May, the S-60 FE and S-60 DC have already garnered industry accolades for their ability to offer performance, versatility and a reduce environmental footprint. In June, the booms were awarded the \u201cAccess Equipment of the Year\u201d award at Premios Potencia in Spain. The FE and DC versions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a>\u2019s tried-and-true S-60 telescopic boom solve this problem with machines that can operate in rough terrain and have clean emissions.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findadistributor.com\/item\/genie-a-terex-brand\/\">Genie<\/a>\u2019s \u201cno compromises\u201d hybrid technology, the S-60 FE offers all the performance benefits of a 4&#215;4 diesel machine but also delivers the benefits of a clean, quiet electric boom. The S-60 FE can be used indoors and outdoors and work more than one week on a single tank of fuel. Both the S-60 DC and the S-60 FE\u2014when run in full electric mode\u2014deliver a full day\u2019s performance on a single battery charge. Additionally, the FE model\u2019s intelligent control system keeps the batteries charged and the machine ready to work by using both regenerative braking technology and automatic engine start and stop. By charging the batteries while the boom works, jobsites can almost entirely eliminate downtime usually caused by plug-in charging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese booms can work outdoors in rugged terrain at the beginning of a project, and then move indoors for finish work, meeting multiple end user needs with a single machine. This saves the time, money and hassle of transporting new machines to a jobsite in the middle of a project,\u201d Larin says. \u201cFor that reason, rental companies can expect a high utilization rate and strong returns on their investment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Like the S-60 FE, the S-60 DC delivers true four-wheel drive capabilities with four efficient AC electric drive motors. Additionally, the S-60 DC model offers a low weight of 17,600 lb (7,983 kg) and quiet operation for end users looking for a powerful, all-electric boom.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The FE version weighs 17,750 lb (8,051 kg), just slightly more than the DC version, making either boom ideal for applications where floor loading must be managed.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, high-efficiency AC drive motors on all four wheels provide similar torque as hydraulic drive motors while using 30-40% less energy. Additionally, maintenance needs are further reduced by a design that has 70% fewer hydraulic components and moving parts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Specifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Key specifications of the S-60 FE\/DC include maximum platform height of 61 ft 2 in (18.6 m) and a maximum outreach of 40 ft 6 in (12.3 m), as well as an unrestricted platform capacity of 660 lb (300 kg) on a 6 ft (1.83 m) jib that delivers a 130-degree working range.<\/p>\n<p>A wide range of options and accessories increase the versatility of the S-60 FE or DC for rental applications. The boom lift can be configured with either of two platform configurations.
