Preparing for a BIG ProMat

This time in two weeks I would have collected my name badge and strode through the doors at Chicago’s McCormick Place South full of optimism ahead of day one at ProMat, which takes place 23-26 March.

I’ll be at the first three days of the show with findadistributor.com vice president of marketing and content, Richard Howes. We are very familiar with the trade show and the MHI trade association that stages it every two years. They have been a tremendous support to us over the years. This is the first time we will have face-to-face meetings with ProMat exhibitors and attendees since our landmark launch ahead of Q4 2014.

It’s been a busy few weeks preparing our literature and making several improvements to the website, which has welcomed a steep increase in traffic since the turn of the year.

ProMat is the largest expo for manufacturing and supply chain professionals in North America, giving attendees access to the latest material handling and logistics equipment and technologies. It’s a perfect platform to promote North America’s online directory of distributors and dealers selling material handling, supply chain and logistics equipment, products and services.

findadistributor.com puts material handling equipment distributors, dealers and OEMs a click away from the buying decision makers responsible for U.S. consumption of material handling equipment worth $165 billion, including conveyors and conveying equipment; overhead traveling cranes, hoists, and monorail systems; industrial lift trucks and stackers; mezzanines, racking and storage products, and more. Much of that equipment will be on show at McCormick Place South.

ProMat is going to be huge this year. In addition to the rising profile of findadistributor.com, here’s what I’m looking forward to:

  • MHI will preview its 2015 Annual Industry Report-Supply Chain Innovation: Making the Impossible Possible during the March 25 Keynote. During the keynote Scott Sopher, the principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Supply Chain practice will join George Prest, CEO of MHI, to present the findings of the 2015 report that details the eight innovations and five supply chain realities that are impacting and transforming supply chains.
  • We’ll find out the winner of the 2015 MHI Innovation Award competition. The MHI Innovation Award serves to educate and provide valuable insights on the latest manufacturing and supply chain innovative products and services.
  • Most of all, I can’t wait to meet friends old and new in one of my favorite cities in the world!

Let me know if you want to fix up a meeting to discuss the most innovative directory concept ever to embrace the material handling and supply chain industries: [email protected]
